Calculate Your GPA
Enter a converted US 4.0 GPA if your transcript uses another grading system.
GPA scale and program thresholds are universal academic standards. Competitiveness benchmarks were verified against MIT, Stanford, CMU, Georgia Tech, and USC guidance.
Formula Used
(Grade Points x Credit Hours) summed across all courses, then divided by total credit hours.
Example: if you earn an A in a 3-credit course, that contributes 12.0 quality points.

Program thresholds are directional benchmarks. Applicants should still verify exact competitiveness with each school before applying.
How Your GPA Is Calculated
This calculator uses the standard 4.0-scale weighted GPA formula: each course's grade points are multiplied by its credit hours, summed together, then divided by total credit hours. Letter grades are converted using the standard US scale (A = 4.0, Aβ = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, etc.). Program competitiveness thresholds are benchmarked against published admissions standards at MIT, Stanford, CMU, Georgia Tech, and USC (verified 2025). These thresholds are stable and do not change annually. Note: If you have an international GPA, convert it to the US 4.0 scale before entering it.
